Well that's that from me for another day at the Euros - England have done it, we avoided a 'Phil Neville' moment, and England even got away with a blatant goal for Ukraine.Match of the Day is just starting.
Keep it quiet, but there is a rest day tomorrow. We'll see you back here on Thursday, when Phil Dawkes is the man in the chair for Portugal v Czech Republic in the first quarter-final. Over and out.
These are the last two quarter finals of Euro 2012. England took first place in Group D following their 1-0 victory over Ukraine, who have been knocked out. At the Donbass Arena in Donetsk, Wayne Rooney scored the winning goal for England in his debut match in the tournament, because of the 2-match ban. Man Utd's forward gave England the lead at the 48th minute, tapping in the ball after a bad blunder by Ukraine's goalkeeper Pyatov on Gerrard's cross.
Ukraine complained about a apparent goal by Devic, at the 62nd minute. Poor performance by France, defeated 2-0 by Sweden - who were already out: goals by Ibrahimovic and Larsson. Hamren's team went close to scoring after only 3 minutes, with a header by Toivonen; 5 minutes later French forward Ribery almost put France ahead, taking advantage of Granqvist's bad mistake, but goalie Isaksson saved. Toivonen hit the post at the 10th minute, exploting a blunder by Mexes.
