Barclays Premier League Arsenal vs Stoke City Games Live Stream April 28, 2012.
Injuries have once again become the hot topic at the Emirates after Arsenal lost both Mikel Arteta and Theo Walcott for the rest of season. Arteta's loss was felt at Chelsea last weekend as they struggled for control in the middle of the park. The Spaniard has been integral to their revival in fortunes this season, a point emphasized by the fact that Arsenal haven't picked up any victories in the league in his absence. Walcott added to the misery by straining his hamstring on Saturday and Wenger confirmed that he is unlikely to return this season.
Arsenal currently lie in 3rd with 62 points but the three other challengers have a game in hand on the Gunners. Newcastle have all the momentum at the moment and can move level on points with Arsenal if they win their game in hand against Chelsea next week. Arsenal have a pretty straightforward fixture list though, a home game against Norwich and a trip to West Brom on the final day. But as recent defeats to Wigan and QPR have proved Arsenal cannot take anything for granted at this stage of the season.
Arsenal's talismanic captain picked up the PFA Player of the Year award last Sunday after raking up 27 league goals this season. Although Van Persie has scored just once in the last seven games, a very long drought considering his scoring feats this season, he still sits atop the Premier League leader board, with Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero the closest competitors. But Van Persie's dry spell probably explains Arsenal's return of two victories from the last five games.
